Julie Light, PT, DPT
Doctorate of Physical Therapy
Julie graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. Her treatment style emphasizes careful movement analysis and individualized correction of faulty movement patterns during everyday activities and exercise. Julie helps patients understand how repeated postures, movement compensations, and muscle imbalances can reinforce pain, then guides them through strategies to restore more optimal body mechanics to reduce unnecessary stress on the body. Her goal is to give patients the tools to maintain progress beyond the clinic and create meaningful, long-lasting pain relief.
Prior to attending physical therapy school, Julie worked as a registered nurse, an experience that strengthened her commitment to addressing the root cause of pain rather than simply masking symptoms with medication. Before joining Progressive Physical Therapy, she worked in a hospital-based outpatient clinic, traveled as a physical therapist, and ran a successful solo private physical therapy practice in Anchorage, where she provided individualized one-on-one care to children and adults prior to having two children. During her time as a solo private practice owner, she had the opportunity to collaborate with several physicians and other local practitioners, relationships she truly learned from and valued and continues to value today.
Her clinical focus includes orthopedic conditions involving the hip, knee, ankle, foot, back, and shoulder. Outside the clinic, Julie enjoys training for half Ironmans and spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters.
